The people of Bradford have been victorious in halting the demolition of one of the last and largest 1930s art deco supercinemas in the UK.
It was bought with public money and stands in a conservation area in the heart of the world’s first UNESCO City of Film, complementing the listed Alhambra theatre next door.
Thanks to the efforts of a city-wide public campaign, the building could now play a huge part in the cultural regeneration of our city centre.
Follow the progress of the community’s efforts to repurpose the building they fought to restore.
One of only two UNESCO Cities of Film in the world

It’s not only the people of The City Of Film who want to save Bradford Odeon
Art historian Dan Cruickshank, actresses Imelda Staunton and Jenny Agutter, directors Terry Jones and Michael Winner, the Theatres Trust, the Cinema Theatre Association, the Twentieth Century Society, SAVE Britain’s Heritage, the Civic Society and the British Film Institute have all signed the petition to Save Bradford Odeon
We need your help to save The Bradford Odeon. This is what we need YOU to do.
Spread the word
The people of Bradford have been misinformed about the Odeon for years. It is vital that you help to spread the word if you can. Find out how.
